Front and Back

The driveway of this refurbished house was completely redesigned to open up a wide view of the front aspect of the house and to make sure that the large number of family cars could be parked to one side. The clients requested that colourful borders soften the amount of hard landscaping and it was essential that the materials used were practical. Resin bonded gravel, in a colour to tone with the house and with edging setts matching the adjacent paving, was chosen. At the back of the house a huge cantilevered deck was constructed over a steep slope with raised beds defining the different living areas. A sitting space with a corner sofa and a stunning fire table was backed by raised beds and a sunbathing area was surrounded by contemporary glass balustrades that were almost invisible and gave a wonderful feeling of sitting in the tree tops.
